Update 1.2.2 Released

This is a small update for some important bugs discovered in the previous version.

Saves are 100% compatible.

This update is available on Steam (it will auto-update) and DRM-free on Humble Bundle and Itchi.io (check for the latest version 1.2.2 on those stores).

Thanks to all who bought the game and the Natural Law expansion so far. You are awesome!

  • The ships’ abbreviations displayed in the ‘Request Defense Fleet’ desire tooltip now show the full ship class name (e.g. Frigate) instead of an abbreviation (e.g. FF). Note: Requires new desire to fire to reflect the changes.

Interstellar Space: Genesis free update 1.2 and Natural Law expansion released!

we have two big news today!

Free update to version 1.2

Interstellar Space: Genesis’s free 1.2 update is now live for everyone! The update has been on the unstable branch for a while to make sure it would be ready for prime-time in the best shape possible. Testing went very well and we’re confident we’re in a very good shape. Thanks to everyone who played the unstable build and provided feedback!

Version 1.2 adds lot of new features, important QoL improvements, balance changes and bug fixes, many of which in response to player feedback...

1.2 Beta Update available on unstable Steam branch

Hello everyone!

Version 1.2 of Interstellar Space: Genesis is a huge free! update and is now available for public testing on Steam’s unstable Beta branch!

Please note that 1.2 unstable is an optional beta update. So, if you want to help test it alongside us you have to manually opt in to get access. In your Steam library, right click on Interstellar Space: Genesis -> Properties -> Betas tab -> Select the “unstable – Unstable Beta Branch for Testing” branch. The game will update and off you go!

1.2 adds a lot of new features, important QoL improvements, balance changes and bug fixes, many of which in response to player feedback...

Update 1.1.4 Released

This is a smaller update to fix two important bugs on version 1.1.3.

One of the bugs involved the colony automation when building Planetary Gravity Generators with the “Balanced” automation focus. This one was less serious. However, the other bug was quite nasty as it caused the homeworlds of players to sometimes spawn too near each other in the bigger maps when the map star distance factor was bigger than 1x.

Saves are 100% compatible.

Let us know if you have any problem with it! And, please keep reporting any issues or bugs you may find by sending a save game and the Player and Player-prev log files to contact@praxis-games.com. The save files and the logs can be found in this folder: C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\LocalLow\Praxis Games\ISG\

1.1.3 Beta Update available on unstable Steam branch

Hello everyone!

Version 1.1.3 of Interstellar Space: Genesis is now available for public testing on Steam’s unstable Beta branch!

Please note that 1.1.3 unstable is an optional beta patch. If you want to help test this update alongside us you have to manually opt in to access it. In your Steam library, right click on Interstellar Space: Genesis -> Properties -> Betas tab -> Select the “unstable – Unstable Beta Branch for Testing” branch.

Due to popular demand, this update adds the ability to choose different ship sets, race appearance, affinity and the Titan ability when creating a custom race. There are also many other improvements, AI enhancements, QoL improvements, UI tweaks, balance changes and bug fixes.

We will be monitoring your reports for major bugs and fixing them...

Hello everyone!

This update adds several QoL improvements to asteroid belts handling, leaders management and combat. It also contains a few AI, performance and UI tweaks and bug fixes.

Saves from 1.1.1 should be 100% compatible with this new update.

The update is now available on Steam, Humble and Itch.io. On Humble, please refresh your games library page so you can see the new update (press CTRL + F5 in your game’s library).

Interstellar Space: Genesis 1.1 Released!

Hello everyone!

Version 1.1 of Interstellar Space: Genesis is finally here, and is now available for everyone!!

This is massive free! update that takes the game to a whole new level, both in terms of gameplay and especially the looks ;) And, to commemorate this big achievement we’re launching a special promotion today where the game will be on sale with a 34% off discount for the next few days.

Compatibility note: Saves from previous versions are not compatible with 1.1. Also, custom races designed with previous versions will not work with this version and may cause game corruption...

Updated to 1.0.8 – Better early game pacing, balance changes, bug fixes

Hello everyone!

We’ve just released the 1.0.8 update. This update addresses early game pacing, which was a common complaint of some of our customers. We think it’s much better now. Remember that if you want to play a faster or slower game you can always tweak the production and research speeds for yourself and your opponents in the New Game screen.

The update also adds new balance changes, UI text and tooltip revisions, AI improvements, bug fixes and more.

Compatibility note: The saves from 1.0.7 may be compatible with this new version to some degree, but we strongly recommend that you start new games to benefit from the update improvements and fixes fully. If you find any issues please let us know. You can check the bug reporting guidelines here.

Hello everyone!

The 1.0.7 major update is here! And with it comes a host of new features, improvements, balance changes and several bug fixes.

This is a huge one. The highlights are the new automation options: – automated remote exploration, colony automation and automatic ship designs features. There’s also new galaxy configuration settings (including a star distance option), improved empire borders, AI improvements, the much requested Colony Base feature!, new leader skills, balance changes and much, much more.

Hello everyone!

We’ve been working hard to bring you a new free update very soon. This will be version 1.0.7 and will bring the following:

  • Automated remote exploration
  • AI colony governors (automated colony management)
  • New galaxy configuration settings including system distance, system spread (even or varied distribution), number of planets, and resource abundance
  • Empire borders improved to be more clearly defined
  • Special systems rebalanced with new miniaturization and space requirement values
  • End-level techs in each research branch (techs that can be researched again and again for further benefits in that field)
